Bio

"Born in Santa Barbara California Victoria comes from three generations of artists. Her maternal great, great, great Grandfather B. A. Bateman exhibited art in Glasgow Inst. of Fine Art, The Royal academy, and St Ives in the late 1800’s. Bateman helped develop the famous Newlyn School of Art Cornwall England. two St Ive. Living at Pembroke Lodge, having acquired, the previous year, a five-acre field on the hill overlooking Newlyn on the northern side of Trewarveneth Street, which became known as ‘Bateman’s Meadow’ or ‘The Meadow’.  Here, he erected various glass-houses and studios which he gave, sold or lent to artists, thus earning himself the sobriquet, ‘the Capitalist’ of Newlyn. Benjamin Arthur Bateman was a great talent and his story and paintings romanced Victoria her entire childhood.
In the late 90's Victoria was recruited by Playboy magazine and became Miss January 1996 Centerfold. While working as a model In 2000 Victoria had an art career in sight and took her portfolio to her boss Hugh Hefner in hopes to work in the art department for the magazine. Instead Victoria walked away with a licensing contract signed with Playboy. The contract spear headed by Hugh Hefner made Victoria the 1st and only artist in history to ever receive such a licensing contract, (which renewed for ten years) allowing the use of all of Playboy trade mark symbols like the Rabbit head, the Bunny costume and Hef himself.
2004 Victoria launched a collection called "THE MARK". The Playboy art collection consisted of 50 original oils and several limited edition prints. Victoria’s collection was displayed and sold in 50 gallery shows in 50 cities, which followed the 50th Anniversary Playboy Tour all in 2004. In 2005 Victoria with former husband were selected for the CBS show, The Amazing Race, this set off a string of reality show appearances.
Victoria was later approached by Pioneer and Dean Guitars to collaborate and soon after with gaming
giant IGT to use her art skills to do game design and animation.

Working in a fast paced structured environment was an amazing experience that changed the course of her art forever.
Hugh Hefner has challenged and inspired me to do something great, I will always be grateful to the
Iconic man for trusting me with his brand.
Today Victoria continues to evolve and collaborate with other artist in her Los Angeles studio.
